Thank you all for your help and advice. I have now ordered a 415 for delivery next spring. Followed your thinking above but have stuck with a grey hull- hopefully that will work out ok- otherwise pretty much the 2 cabin format that will be shown at SBS

Great, congratulations to this important decision. I am very happy with my smaller Hanse ( except the canvas work from Wendel & Rados ), minor things to correct. We have spend 3 marvellous weeks enjoying our new boat.
We have not opted for a coloured hull for the following reasons:
a) Colors will fade, regardless what the sales guys tell you. This is accelerated if you keep your boat constantly moored with the same direction to the sun. White Hulls just need a protective waxing every year to keep the gloss. White is based on Titaniumdioxyde pigments which are the optimum for UV resistance
b) Repair on a coloured hull will always be visible, everyboat yard can fix scratches on a white hull into perfect surfaces again.
