Nice Pictures,

Panos, what are you doing with your teak deck, it looks like new. Did you sand it?

Hi,
ThanksBig%20smile.

We do nothing special to the teak deck. We just wash it with fresh water and brush it with a soft brush regurarly.

Hmmmm,
my teak looks grey after 1,5 seasons.
for cleaning i use only fresh water and a soft brush.
Same way of cleaning as panos.

Confused

BTW. I do not have problems with this grey look.

Hi,

"regularly" possibly makes a difference. Regularly= 2/3 times a week. I have permanent crew on board.

Else it might be the sun.Teak decks tend to become grey after 4-5 years here.
I avoid sanding it since I guess Hanse only used a thin teak board (6-8mm). Each time you sand you eat 1/2 mm away. Probably I will sand it every 4-5 years.

Thanks panos,

2-3 times a week, my goodness

That makes a diffrence for sure!

I am happy if i am on my boat every 2-3 weeks for a weekend.

My permanent crew consists of a company of spiders. They do not tend to clean my deck at all.Wink

Two helis covered the start of the race.
I didn't pay any helicopter to take pictures.
