Thanks.
The boat will be based in Sandebukta ( Vestfold ).
I will go for chain, at least for the transit up from Greifswald. ( looking into how to get equipment from Norway to Germany fairly cheap so I can go by airplane to pick the boat up, so if anyone has experience.....). I will buy a lighter anchor ( a bruce copy or so ) and probably ankorlina for the stern.
I believe that the fresh water tank is somewhat in the bow as well... I do not know how that affects the boat...

Hegar,
I would, from my personal experience with Hanse, spend the money that a 2-way ferry-ticket Oslo-Kiel costs. Bring all the equipment you need down with your car, and inspect the boat. Be seriously detailed, and write absolute everything you find on the hand-over protocol. What is not mentioned here, will probably never be fixed. At least not in Greifswald - if you're luckier than most of us - Fjord Boats will take care of it when you arrive back in Norway with the boat; but still you run the risk of a wet (thinking of them leakages Hanse is famous for) journey back to Norway - at sea. Freezing. I think the handover itself was carried out in a very professional manner; but the very first time you find yourself in your new boat - it is hard to remember all them items on the checklist, and it is easy to oversee the nasty details. Despite what the Hanse representative may tell you - you should INSIST on getting the boat cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner, while you inspect for leakages inside the boat. I think 90% of them 320's so far has been suffering from leakages in windows and hatches. Return back home; fill up the car with cheap German beer, service your car in Germany - and prepare for your return in 1-3 weeks. In the meanwhile the yard can fix whatever may be wrong on your boat; you get some time to digest all the new impressions, and further prepare yourself for the transport of the boat. I would not recommend to make a plan on leaving the shipyard the very same day as the handover. I've read the stories on those who have tried - and repeatedly failed... (Check out Seilas.no article archive.) Back in 2008 when I picked up my 320, we took the plane from Stavanger - Copenhagen - Hamburg, and rented a car at the airport. Drove to a shop called Schwenckner just outside the city, and got all the equipment for the boat at half price compared to Norway - a third of the prices compared to Wendel & Rados in Greifswald. Then we drove over to Greifswald for the handover of the boat - about 3 hrs by car I think. (Autobahn.) The rental-car was at great help when I arrived with 85kgs of luggage; thanks to SAS for not giving us a penalty for that! However, it probably filled in another 85kgs with beer, food and IKEA interior (plates, glasses etc.) - so the car was widely used the first couple of days. As me and my girfriend spent 1 week in Greifswald, in the boat, the rental-car was also great for visiting Rügen, Wieck and Stralsund. My crew came in a week after the handover, by plane from Stavanger - Berlin, and Deutsche Bahn have plenty of departures from Berlin to Greifswald on a daily basis. A 10 minute taxi-ride will then take you to the shipyard. If you're able to transport all of what you need of equipment and heavy clothing prior to the transport back to Norway, I think it should be an easy fix to leave out the rental-card costs. From what I've heard, it is possible to borrow a small van at the yard, to get some groceries nearby. Also, I would expect your Norwegian dealer to have this information in their routines for their customers... By the way: In regards of the fresh water tank in the bow - the waterline "submergs" 3-4 cm with a full tank. So, again, when racing - most of the fresh water goes out of the boat... Thanks, that was a lot of good stuff. I will do something simmilar. I am concidering to simply drive down from Oslo a couple of weeks before the handover. it is not really that far. The life raft and the gas bottle would not be to popular on an aircraft anyway.
was there a good way to store things at the yard, and/or was the boat available for you to store your things?
I guess this thread is leaving the original topic......
Thanks again

I moved into my ship instantly; so I did not have the need for any storage space on the yard. But I doubt they'll put too much effort in to store your items safe, unless you're able to keep them in your boat.
The Gas bottle (Norwegian type, propane) where installed by the yard on mine; but this was something Nelson Marine organized ahead for all their customers. What about a new thread; new boat-owner will never get enough information prior to their pickup of a new yacht. ![]() |

That was interresting, where are you with this now? have you reverted to CQR as on your previous boat? I have not yet bought my primary or secondary anchor, so this is very good feedback for me.

( I`ve just read through this thread: http://myhanse.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3557&PN=2 on the 320 hints and tips. and maybe the 14 Kg Cobra is a good idea.) Edited by Hegar - 01 November 2010 at 19:19 |

Hegar,
I have not yet changed it - at this time of year I am only day sailing and not anchoring very often. I carry my 12 kg CQR in the locker just in case. I have the dimensions for the 14kg Kobra, but have not yet sorted out how best to fit it on or near the bow roller of my 350. I will post again when I make some progress on this over the winter. hei Steinar
I will make a new thread about boat delivery in Greifswald.
I guess that is more appropriate if there is anyone else ablut to pick up a boat around that time.
