I ordered our H460 in Oct 2021 and visited the factory last week in the expectation to visit the finished build. Unfortunately it was delayed again for another 2-3 weeks. This is a consistent with the experience over the years, bad to no communication via the dealer and continuous delays.

The factory visit had us look at a half build. Build quality itself looked overall good besides some very surprising issues: the manual bilge pump was built in upside down (in most of the 460 in the production line). Some of the agreed options were missed to put in production plan and cannot be rectified in production but only afterwards (Genoa tracks, throttle control and dishwasher) meaning additional delays.

The gel coat had some scratches that seem to originate from transport of the hull.

I am not convinced that Hanse and dealership align and communicate very well.

That‘s not what you are looking for as a new owner…
I keep my fingers crossed, that everything will be fine soon.

I highly recommend to get a surveyor to check everything before shrink wrapping it for transport. Lots of things do not go as planned and are harder to fix afterwards. If you need a contact for that in Germany let me know.

Hanse did the final quality check of my 460 last Friday.
I had a quality check with my dealer this Monday.
We didn‘t find any major issue, Hanse hasn’t found before.
Everything was solved within 48 hours and the transport starts today.

If you are buying your Hanse from far away, I would also recommend to send an expert for a quality check. But it doesn’t look like it won’t work without. It‘s up to you.

Has anyone experienced production delays in Sept/Oct 24?
My contract requires a 25% payment at the end of production. The local dealer is stating the production is estimated to be completed in 5 days based on the original estimate. They say they have received no update so therefore the date stands.
The factory is unresponsive to emails as to when production started or when will it finish.
Axel noted delays in June when the bilge pumps were being put in upside down.
Any “educated” guesses?
Cheers J

I can‘t tell you anything about delays in Sep/Oct 24. But the production time in Greifswald takes about six weeks. I had no update about my „end of production date“ until about three weeks before. Than it was delayed by another three weeks (=six in total) which means, the factory didn’t tell the dealer and/or the dealer didn’t notice, that production didn’t start as planned.

When I got information about that, I asked for a proof, that production has started. My dealer discussed for me for hours and told me that it’s not possible to get a proof. 30 minutes after that call, I got photos from my hull in production via WhatsApp…

Just a small update on the current status - my boat (hull #275) went into production on 3rd of Dec 2024, and is expected to be completed on 20th of Jan, 2025

The order was placed Dec 2023 with initial expected delivery in March 2025.
I was told recently that due to the 8 series going out of production there are more slots for new models.
