Hi All Hanse 311/12/15 friends!
after having lived with this issue for years I finally got it sorted
last week when my very clever and practical friend Daniel visited from
Germany. The comments and videos sent a year ago were very helpful, thank you!
Here is what we did:
 - I ordered a replacement LCD plus ribbon from AKSpeedo for Pounds 19.99
note: on the website I  clicked on "VDO LCD Pixel repair" in order to find the item       needed
-  to remove the hour counter Daniel  unscrewed the round unit from the back , i.e. from       inside the locker (no need to remove the entire square unit from the front)
-   taking the unit apart he was very careful not to damage anything: among the tools he     used was a  wooden toothpick!
-   successful result: the total number of hours are displayed again : just under 3000            hours, an average of 150 hours per year , which makes sense  for my Hanse 2004           which went into service in 2005
with greetings to all Hanse friends

Hello

Sale problem

Bought one on Aliexpress

It has a + and -
Just linked those to the + and - and the key lock
As soon as I tune the key the counter turns

Dear I’m very surprised neither do I have a counter nor a fuel gauge; I was told drilling the stainless tank would be messy; what kind of gauge did you install ? Many thanks.

Hello

Fuell Gauge

As I don't have a large round drill for steel, I let it installed by a warf

Still need to have a water gauge installed too

Hour meter

This one is very easy to install
Just link the wires to the key switch
As from as the key is turned on, the counter starts to turn
