Hi all
this topic relates to the previous from andrew:
the 312 does not have a  fuel gage
but rather than installing one I got used over the years to keep track of
fuel consumption by noting the engine hours when taking fuel.
Unfortunately the engine hour counter has stopped.
Has anybody out there had the same problem and is this difficult to put right?
Thank you in advance for response and advice!
Wieland

Hi
Here is how I got it working again. The volvo might also use a hour counter from VDO

Hello

I had the same problem

1 - Fuel gauge : bought one on aliexpres. 5€
Let it install by the shipyard. 20'
But by the way they cleaned the tank. 3h ;-)
Type diesel tank fuel gauge with levelmeter : 20€

Bought the same for the water tank, but not yet installed

2 - engine hours
Same. Bought one on aliexpress
But linked it very easy on the red light on the panel
As soon as the lights on, the counter starts to count

Type engine hours counter in ali. Same as line 9€

Installed both inside close to the engine

Both work perfectly since 5 years

Now my RPM counter is dead, will certainly do the same

Hello Tal'Miti

Do you have a link you could share with me for the water tank gauge you bought?

TIA
Pat

Hi All Hanse 311/12/15 friends!
after having lived with this issue for years I finally got it sorted
last week when my very clever and practical friend Daniel visited from
Germany. The comments and videos sent a year ago were very helpful, thank you!
Here is what we did:
 - I ordered a replacement LCD plus ribbon from AKSpeedo for Pounds 19.99
note: on the website I  clicked on "VDO LCD Pixel repair" in order to find the item       needed
-  to remove the hour counter Daniel  unscrewed the round unit from the back , i.e. from       inside the locker (no need to remove the entire square unit from the front)
-   taking the unit apart he was very careful not to damage anything: among the tools he     used was a  wooden toothpick!
-   successful result: the total number of hours are displayed again : just under 3000            hours, an average of 150 hours per year , which makes sense  for my Hanse 2004           which went into service in 2005
with greetings to all Hanse friends
   Wieland - "Happy Dayz"

Dear I’m very surprised neither do I have a counter nor a fuel gauge; I was told drilling the stainless tank would be messy; what kind of gauge did you install ? Many thanks.

Hello

Fuell Gauge

As I don't have a large round drill for steel, I let it installed by a warf

Still need to have a water gauge installed too

This one is very easy to install
Just link the wires to the key switch
As from as the key is turned on, the counter starts to turn
