Hi,

I am not close to my boat right now, I was wondering if anyone knows the angle that the pedestal heels, and the width of the pedestal cross section.

Many thanks in advance,

Çağrı

To conclude: this is 18 degrees.

The reason I was asking is, I am trying to order a hand grab.

Hi Cagri,

where will you order the handgrabs?  Any idea about the cost?

Hi,

I had to get them custom made by a welder in NL.

Picking them up today, let’s see how they look.

I paid 500 euros for the pair.

These are the photos of the end product, with my sloppy design/measurements. A bit higher than I wanted, but given that this was done based on remote design based on intuition (and a lot of inspiration from https://www.myhanse.com/grab-rails-for-steering-wheel_topic11061.html), I am satisfied with the result.

I tapped threads to the alu pedestal, used 20mm m6 bolts with duralac, and plastic washers between the handle-grab lips and the pedestal. The installation took 2 hours.

The welder is Paul, super friendly and accessible, I am happy working with him. Here is his instagram handle: https://www.instagram.com/paulie_smeltman/ .

I am pretty sure, when I drilled, I was slow and careful. But after the hole was there, I poked it thoroughly, no contact.

If you follow the link above, the same mounting approach was used before as well.
