Hi
Does anyone have an example of rigging the telescopic davits. Where do you fix your lifting line. Thanks

Hello, I was also curious. https://youtu.be/D8N2Zp48lSs? si=fynvTO-FkF2vKhEv Separate clutch use I also buy telescopic Davits as an option. Doesn't it include a clutch?

Curious how this Osculati davit supports the dinghy weight? If just by tightening two hinges attached to the stern, it doesn't look like a good idea. I got "Forespar" davit
https://youtu.be/K23N1XDMPyQ?si=n2Iu6iINXcZFJyuh Works reasonably well, and the manufacturer states the allowed weight up to 350lb=160kg meaning you can hang both the dinghy and the outboard, at least in principle
. Didnt try though, only carry dinghy which is about 40kg.Edited by marsella - 22 January 2025 at 14:03 |

They seem to be able to support the weight. I'm using a double sheeve block with simple reeve and it lifts quite well using the secondary winch. There is no clutch or brake in line with this though. Not sure where to mount a cleat. Also wondering if I should add another block so the winch doesn't need to be used. Wish hanse would have given some documentation on this.

We have the telescopic davits that should carry 150kg, we use a carbon sail OC Tender on it that's 70kg and I wouldn't add a single kilo more, the installation is purely into the deck and if you are in a sea the deck slightly bends under the pressure.... I am currently working with the boat yard to strengthen these. As attachment I am running the line through to the aft cleats. There are the little clutches you get with it to run spring lines against the sideways movement.

This davet is really very nice. I have 310 Highfield and 9.9 Suziki outboard engine. Ot has carried perfectly. But you need good set up and fix the boat closer to the boat with extra robes.
