Dear firends,

I am about to order carrying piece for gangway self-made from ladder and bangkirai wood. It has T-shape, horizontal part is connected to ladder and vertical part is pin to be inserted in the bathing ladder hole, one nearer to middle of the boat.
I have problem determining length of that pin, since have forgotten to measure depth of b. ladder fixing hole, and I am 500km away of the boat.

I need help from somebody who is, at the same time:
a) Owner of Hanse 350
b) Near to or on the boat
c) Willing to measure depth of the bathing ladder fixing hole and to send to forum or to me as private mail.

This is the hole which depth should be measured:

And this is the gangway, in use in Vela Luka, Korcula, Croatia.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Clivian!

Thanks, but it is not so practical as it looks nice. I have to fold it during sailing to make space for boom free moving.

Anyway, if you like, I could send you more photos to personal address.

Terry, it would be very good decision. Cost is beautiful, thousand of islands, see is fantastic, lot of spots of unspoiled nature. Marinas are very good, try for beginning ACI (http://www.aci-club.hr), they have excellent places.

Bit crowdy during July and August, but still enough sunny and warm in September or pre-season.

Just type in "crotatia sailing" or "adriatic sailing" and search will give you million of www sites.

Still nobody to help me?  My time is running out, I have to go to some sailing end of next week, it would be good to have proper gangway.

Hi Sloba,

I could do it for you at the next weekend - is this OK or too late?

Regards,

Jochen

Hi, speed-Joe!

Unfortunately, not speedy enough. Next weekend I will be on the boat as well.

Anyway, thanks and have good sailing.

I suppose there is no difference between a 320 and a 350. That's how it looks like, outside and inside.

I have now measured my 350, and can confirme that it is 6,1 cm! Good luck! Are you happy about your liferaft posision? I would really have it somewere else but it is realy not possible to have it elsewhere. I have seen the one on this forum putting it on the "bading platform" but, I get problems both with the shore-conections and the folding badingplatform...

It was nightmare to install it, entire large GRP cover in front of sprayhood has to be removed. Cover is glued with sikaflex on couple of places, some of them were hidden. It took whole day to mount it, done by professionals!

I have now problem that I cannot fully slide entrance plexi under that cover. Bolts for fixing liferaft frame, screwed trough cover, are to long, obstracting sliding of plexi plate. I am thinking about cutting it to two pieces, hope it wont be to long then.

As you said, no other place is better than this, nevertheless this is not good enough, at least acc to my opinion. I was not enthusiastic to make holes in left aft part of the transom, there are some cables inside and place si limitetd, so it would be very tight. Of course, shore connection socket must be moved in that case, which I didn't like as well.

Now, that's it, I have it on place, hope I will not check is it the best one.
