Lazy bag and Elvstron FCL sails

   Is anyone who has the FCL Elvstrom sails experiencing issue with the Yard's lazy bag? Is the mainsail fitting into the bag easily?

	Hi Richard, my experience on this subject is not so negative. Sofaf for me the biggest, but fading, issue is that the mainsail keeps memory of the orginal folding, and therefore when moored, each time that the wind allows me, I re-pack it carefully avoiding the original bends. I'd rather replace, or at least modify, the original lazy jack, whose tension cannot be adjusted very easily IMHO; I think I'll add a couple of blocks and move the adjusting line to the mast. 	I have the experience on my 445. The standard lazy bag is too small for the FCL sails. It is very hard to close the bag. After one year of usage a changed it to a bigger one. I could have alterated it and sew in more sunbrella at the upper part, but I decided to change to sunbrella and another colour as well. Now it is easy to close. HanaFe

	I am going to order the zippack airflow from elvstrom. In principle this should be fitting perfectly with fcl sails... Anyone has had any experience with it?

	Thanks very much for posting this, it really looks great and is much bigger than the crappy solution ex works. Unfortunately the yard does still not recognize the fault that the standard lazy bag is too small for the stiffer FCL sails. It is almost impossible to close for anybody shorter than 2.20 m and I have already the first spots on the zipper where the seam yields to the stress. In fact Hanse after sales lives to its reputation and starts playing ping pong with their supplier Wendel & Rados, who of course have a vested interest in not acknowledging their faulty design. The last comm from Hanse was "your customer is an idiot as he does not fold the sail in a way that it fits into our lazy bag". In short " Don't order the lazy bag ( or any canvas work) from the yard" spend your money with local people who know what they are talking about and are dedicated to a real after sales service!

	My 385 is 2 years old, has the factory lazybag with North ACL laminate sails and the previous owner hardly used her at all. The bag has fallen apart and frayed, the stiffening battens have snapped and the boot is now so bad it is about to blow away in the next gale. In contrast, all the other canvas is from Covercraft and it is in excellent condition. Result? I have ordered a new lazybag from Covercraft. I agree with the last post.

	Apart from the quality, is the design from Covercraft different from the factory supplied lazybag? After three seasons, my factory supplied lazybag is close to needing to be replaced. I, too, am very pleased with the other items which came from Covercraft, namely the sprayhood and wheel cover. Charles

	Charles You are not that far from Burnham on Crouch Lonton & Gray sail makers would make you an excellent cover if anyone is having a problem getting stiff sails into the bag just fit some internal straps. After a short while ( ie when you arrive into a marina having dropped the sail outside) the sail compresses or at least you can fold it better & you can zip it up. This was a mod I made on my original Hanse cover. i now have a Lonton cover which works OK

	Thank you for the info Samuel. I had a look today when we were fitting our sails and I think my existing cover might get through this season after a bit of repair work. I would like to have a look at your cover should our paths cross, as your idea for quickly stowing your main looks good. Charles
