Stein-E, I started to plan the holes for the outlets and suddenly realized that I maybe should check if there is electricity in the cables. Sorry to say but there wasnt. So now i dont have any idea where the cables othe end is. Any tips?

Hello all Could any one please advice me about where to place the 230v sockets in the aft cabins on our Hanse 370? I have searched the boat's double hull and did not find any wires for the optional factory wiring for the aft cabins. There was one 230v wire for microwave oven hidden behind the tableplate above the stove. Got that free after using "make it or break it" force.  Installed a berker outlet socket in the best place for that. My problem is that my kids use the aft cabins and I fear they might destroy the 230v sockets by accident if the are located badly. Any advice on a good location in the aft cabins would be very much appreciated. /h8jer |

I've not put sockets in the aft cabin - just the fore cabin. However I have run cables back to the stern and know there is conduit along the port side. I only have a single rear cabin - port side.
You have a couple of other options... 1) I know it is easy to get cables back from the battery locker to the engine compartment. You could use that route into the stern cabins 2) The water heater is under the bed on the port side (on mine, anyway). That has 240v for the water heater. You could pick up from there. Whilst you are at it, why not run some 12v cable back and put in some USB charging sockets as well. That way on only get to curse once pulling the cables

Hi Peter - Thx for your reply. The water heater has its own switch on the calira power switchboard. I like that, and if the heater got power it will show a red light. If there is no more water in the tank, it can be turned off separately. But we have never used the 230v socket in the head overhead closet. Daisy-chaining the toilet 230v outlet is perhaps the best way to go. The power consumption between the head outlet and the aft cabins together will be minimal. Back to the quote... As a parent I had a mantra that the kids should not have their own TV in their rooms. But parenthood stress moved that border. I also believed in not having TV in our boats. Yet again my borders was pushed by teenagers. They might need cellphone chargers in their rooms, and they might surf all night. But when we are at sea or anchor with no shore power, it will limit their power usage. My naive hope is that they would have to turn off their phones instead of making us seek harbor to recharge the house batteries  But still if anyone knows where the yard put the sockets in the aft cabin I would like to know /H8jer

Hanse Werft has mounted the same set of cables in your boat as in all 370s regardless of the fact that you may or may not have chosen all the options which need cables from point A to point B. At wesailhanse.se you can find a cable diagram for the 370e (works also for H400), and all cables which are mentioned in this diagram are present in your boat. The reason for a standardized cable set is obviously a lower price (when Hanse is bying retail). Since Hanse and the dealers like to earn a few bucks in the after-market instrumentation, they have no intentions of telling you where the cables are hidden. That is also the reason for banning electric cable diagrams with Hanse-copyrigt given as an excuse. The cables are first mounted in the ship, and if for example you did not pay for an autopilot, the cables for this item are tied to the thick snake of cables and hidden by black tape. Thereafter the black stocking is mounted on the cables. So you have to deduct the lenght of cable e.g. for the Autopilot, let's say 1,5 meters. Then you have to cut a few inspection holes in the snake, like 1 meter before and after where you suspect the cable will end. Then you consult the "370e electric installation cable list", and you find that the cables you are searching for, are FLRY(the cable name), 6mm2 sw/rt(black/red) from E-panel to Autopilot computer, and 6mm2 sw/ge(black/yellow) from Autopilot AP to Autopilot computer. Good luck with your hunting! (Or "Hals und Beinbruch" as they say in Germany) This is no third hand information, I have done this thing myself! I have a cable diagram for my 400, obtained by asking the dealer for it. By all means this diagram should be available in " Manuals and Drawings", but search the net, and you may find it. Cook the Captain P.S. the 230V cables may not be installed, but open the black stocking in direction of the bow. If you have no 230V sockets in the bow, and you find a grey 230V cable, you just search for the ends of it. Edited by Captain Cook - 11 June 2019 at 10:01 |

I agree that the 230v cables are gray. But I have tracked all the 230 cables from the calira 230v switchboard. And there is not any cables for aft cabins in the harness/pile of cables. Have also searched with endoscope camera in the voids. This discovery leads me to conclude that it is not possible to have flush mounted 230v outlets in the aft cabins. The only possible location would be under the locker with the risk of people stepping on whatever they put in the outlets. My plan is to daisychain from the heads 230v outlet and use Berker Surface Mounting sockets above the shelfs |

Hi Marco,
I just ended up in the same problem - The 230V cable behind the port side wardrobe had no power! Accoring to the electrical diagram the other end should be at the Calira 230V panel. Is it ihidden, unconnected, somewhere?
