Are there any particual things to check on a 371?
Deck delaminations / balsa rot, week hull spots, stearing, keel support, weak fittings etc? Thanks |

Other than the usual checks when buying a second hand boat, the only thing I can think of is the aluminium rudderstock. In the original configuration it was connected by grounding wire to the keel & saildrive, causing galvanic corrosion issues. Applying copper-based antifouling in the direct vicinity of the rudderstock can also create issues. These are well-documented on this forum and can be found throughout the Hanse range (not specific to the 371) of that era.
We bought hull 297 last year, sailed her from Finland to The Netherlands and I have not been disappointed in any area. Build quality is generally good in my opinion. |

The HIN (hull identification number) is engraved in the gelcoat on the port stern, just under the deck level (outside) on our boat.
