   Hi, just an update. I managed to figure out how to take the lamp apart and managed to fix it, one of the wires from the bulb come off the terminal inside the lamp base.To avoid anyone else making the same mistake, do not unscrew the small screws in the base of the unit as this results in the thing springing apart and small pieces flying everywhere!
There is a little grub screw just above the bottom flange, take this out and then gently unscrew the whole plastic terminal block and then you have access. 
Very pleased with that as a new lamp was €350! Plus delivery
