Dear Miguel

We do have a 470 built in 2007 and so did our neighbour who exchanged it now to a 540, but he is not more happy. The same three cabin layout, a bit more space at the nav place and in the lazarette; exept if you have a dinghy that takes away all space. Concerning sailing I'm just about sure that the 470 is faster and more responsive on the rudder. You tack this boat like a dinghy. (I used to sail a Fireball dinghy of 80 kilos). Imagine you have about 6 tons more to move but not 30% more sail area.

A 475 is coming for sure but I guess it will be more of a cosmetic upgrade unless Hanse asks us owners what should be changed. (I may start a new topic in the 470 corner. )But I wonder since long when they close the gap between 47 and 54 with a 50 footer. 15 metres is always a barrier you should keep an eye on.

Choosing the dealer you can trust is the crucial decision I tell you! He will have to do all the warranty issues as Hanse doesn't like to be contacted directly. And believe me, if he's nuts (like mine) you will have a nerve wrecking time.

Hello guys

I am in the same process of choosing how to outfit a 545. One issue is to install a generator and AC. About the generator I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the fisher panda generator, and if it is better to install a generator after sale.

About the AC, my question is if it is better to retrofit this after sale?

Cheers

I have and it's good.
already with 600h and only problems with impeller wich i change myself having always two as spare.
In a warm place like Portugal install AC and generator and if possible webasto on factory.
you will use all once in winter, if you use the boat a lot as i do, the webasto is silent during night.
good luck

I have the 10Kw FischerPanda and I am happy with it.
You have to be very careful, to close the sea cock during repeated start trials (for example if you run out of fuel), else sea water enters the cylinders through the exhaust and ruins the engine. Besides that "problem" the genset is very reliable and will serve you many years. We run the FP double the hours than the engine (about 300 h per year).

I would never think to postfit the generator or AC. It is very complicated and will never reach the quality of a factory installation.
Do not forget to install an inverter. We run the inverter continuously. It is a great thing to have 220V in the boat.

Hello
I have build in the Fischer Panda 6000 i PMS in and change the org Victron
Multiplus 1600/70 Amp to a  Quattro 3000/120 AMP/12V and the digital  multiplus control panel  .This combination works very well. The Quattro inverter can steer 2 X 230 AC sources inlets(it takes normaly first the gen inlet if it is not running he will take wall source if this is not available it take the batterys source by the inverter) and 2X DC 12V outlets, one only when there is wal- our generator 230 AC source, if this is not enough power he will use the batterys for a short period for more power to start the airco ,if there is no 230 input it shut off the big loads like waterheater, airco etc. and make by the inverter 230 AC for the lower power like the 230 outputs in the galley and cabines. There is also a contactor to automatic start the generator if the batterys are charged not enough.Al together this system can deliver almost 60 AMP 230V AC for a short period.(29 Amps by gen and a other 30 by the inverter from the battery's) With this system you have a complete power control.
I have installed there by myself but it is indead a lot of work.Especially the frame to build the gen in above the engine.I have make this in allu.
Also you have to change a lot of the wirings.the org. cables to the inverter are even for the 1600 inverter a little bit to weak,so you have to change this(2X 90MM˛ pos and 2X 900MM˛ Neg) also the fuses(2X200 amps) and put a extra earth leak protection of 32 Amps on the second 230 circuit.
Because I get a very good price from the Victron-FischerPanda Belguim dealer and dit al the work by myself I get a better and cheaper solution than when I order it org by Hanse.Smile
If you can not do it by ourself, I think it will by cheaper to take this option by the org order by Hanse.
