All the best of luck with your new boat. It looks beautifull and the two wheels really gives it a sporty look! Also happy to hear that your local dealer got positive comments from you. I have the feeling that it is something we do not often hear in this forum.

Good winds and calm water,

I am going to Greifswald 1. november for delivery of new Hanse 400. Is there anything special to look for on the
H 400? Has there been any problems with leaking windows on the later models of h 400?

Hi Alidal,
Congrats with your new H400! Enjoy the delivery!
We were lucky not to have major problems with ours after delivery but however I would check all blocks on deck and see if everything is well secured (we lost a small block, due to two screws that were not well fixed, during our maiden trip). Also check all connections of the hoses. (we had a leak of cooling fluid due to a bad connection at the warm watter boiler wich we only discovered after a few months). For the problems of the windows : this seems to be a problem with models before 2009 who have another type of window(s). However for us it is to early to see if there are any problems like that (as I understood, those problems came only after a year or two...).
Also make sure that the latest software of Simnav is installed (we discovered that most of the simnav software we had, was outdated. Our dealer aranged that somebody of Simnav came (for free) to install the updated software. Good service, but I lost a full morning with it...and had some frustration about buggs that apeared between the different instruments.
Those are the small things we encountered. Not much, and most of it, you can avoid yourself by checking very thoroughly everything when the boat is delivered to you.
Good luck !
Tom

Are you sure you will do the delivery trip in mid November? I would think about it twice.

1. On the day of delivery your boat will not be perfect.
2. You need some days or better 1-2 Weeks in Greifswald to fix some problems - i am sure!
3. Most of the marinas in this time of year will be closed. You may get problems with getting fresh water or eletricity. Myself had this problem this April in Denmark! Nearly every marina was closed -ok we could get into but -  no water and several times no electricity.
4. Be aware to sail in possible fog in this time of year!
5. the airheating from eberspächer is very comfortable (i have it). A big advantage is that it reduces the condesation very much.
6. Daytime is very short in this time of year!
7. If you are an experienced sailor, than you may start your trip. But if not than i would leave the boat in greifswald until spring 2011!

Just a thought
