Thank you very much for your fast response. Did you use the load bearing collars ? ![]() Edited by BamBam - 12 February 2025 at 11:02 |

I also have the TrueDesign parts in my 400e (6 places: forward head, aft head and galley sink). I didn't include the load bearing collars and I don't feel these are necessary because the locations are all in tight protected spaces where it is unlikely the fittings would ever be subjected to a heavy load.

Also changed the seacocks and fittings on my 342 with trudesign, no problems although they take up a bit more space than the old ones.

Hi BB,
I don’t really see your concerns, but in lieu of seeking replies of a commentary nature here, may I suggest you contact the manufacturers direct for a better clarification and ease your concerns. The valves are not designed for a specific hull thickness with the internal collar tightened via a thread, and you can also add an an additional internal collar for further stem strength. Peter

When Hanse originally install these fittings they put the 90⁰ elbow onto the through hull fitting then fit the seacck to that.
According to shipwrights here in Australia and elsewhere, the seacock must be fitted directly to the through-hull fitting, and the elbow fitted upstream from the seacock. For sure this takes up more space in the cupboard, but it still fits OK with Truedesign. Maybe rules are different in different countries, but this one makes sense to me.

Just wanted to keep you informed.
There was some kind of delay in our plans to change the seacocks this spring, but we finally managed to complete our to-do-list. Thanks for the support.

Dear all, I'm in the processing of replacing the seacocks of my Hanse 400e of 2009 with Trudesign, and I double checked the list of necessary parts that are available on this thread (Thanks for posting!). I find out that the black wast valve of the stearn head is 1 e 1/4" and not 1 e 1/2" as the valve of the bow head. ![]() Is this because I have the TMC kit that transformed the manual in electric WC? I bought the boat second-hand and I find with the electric WC. I see that TMC uses smaller dimension for the pipes. Thanks in advance for your insight, Raimondo
