I would change the bulb (2,85m) with a shorter(2,45).
Anyone knows the costs? The mast remain the same?

Raniero,

Go to the Hanse Shop at http://www.hanse.boatoon.com" rel="nofollow - www.hanse.boatoon.com they list 3 keels for the 548 of different weights - a deep T type at 5800kg, a "standard" L type at 6377kg and a shoal draft L type keel of 6620kg. I think you will find the mast height remains unchanged but the shallower option keels are heavier. They don't list prices for these on the website so I guess you need to email them.

The cost af a new keel is €25000????, and I doubt that the market for the old keel is great? The prices here may give you an idea: https://hanse.boatoon.com/en/shop/suche" rel="nofollow - https://hanse.boatoon.com/en/shop/suche
- and since most of the keels here are not priced, you can ask Boatoon for a quote.

In my opinion the smartest solution is to sell the old boat, and purchase another new/used Hanse with shallow draft.
Especially in the Netherlands there are quite a few boats with shallow draft around the water that was called Zuiderzee when I was younger.
(Today IJsselmeer/Markermeer). My Hanse 400 has a draft of 2 meters, so I had to avoid shallow parts of that area when I visited in 2012 and 2015.

I completely agree with Kjeld: buy another boat. There are all sorts of calculations that underpin the selection of a particular keel and I would very strongly advise you to seek advice from a suitably qualified and experienced professional if you still want to research that route.  Anything less is a gamble with your boat and those on it.

I have some sympathy.  I am somewhat surprised to see the standard draft for the 545 is 2.8m.  My very first experience of the Hanse brand was a 470 with a 2.35m draft based in Fremantle, WA.  The main "destination" for sailing around here is Rottnest which has very limited moorings or anchorages for a boat with this draft.  I enjoyed a great cruise with the owner to the Abrolhos Islands off Geralton, but the owner only kept the boat a couple of seasons before swapping for a catamaran.
So far I haven't found the 2.25m draft of my 458 an issue anywhere in the Mediterranean although my depth reading was zero when we went into the harbour at Nisyros last season.

I am not surprised of the 25.000 euro for the 2,43 keel.
When we ordered our 545 in 2010 the extra cost for the 2,43 keel =13.000 euro
The 2,43 keel upper part is cast iron and the lower part lead. The 2,80 is complete cast iron and so far I remember in one part.
I happy Smilewe ordered the 2,43 a 2,80 in the small harbor’s of the Med. is a pain in the …Cry

Have you checked with the Mars Metal people?   They make keels to replace the factory keels for a lot of boats.  In general, they are much higher quality and can provide sailing stability with less draft.

If I was going to buy a new keel,  I'd look there before Hanse.    This is who I was dealing with a while back..
