Hi all

After renewing my rudder bearings I've encountered an counter problem. The rudder is not loose, but it is so smooth that the tiller turns also in harbor very easily when there is any water flow. I'd like to lock the tiller/rudder when in docks to e.g. reduce the boat movement when in anchor. However the only clever way to do this that I've found is to tie the tiller to the cleats (or somewhere else) that means that the tiller cannot be in the up position to enable more room in cockpit.

Has anyone found any clever solutions to this?

What I am currently thinking is to drill a hole and make threads to the upper bearing housing and then put a screw there to "lock" the rudder axle when not in transit
