I got my Hanse 470 with the new GB40 system.

The GB40 offers integration DVD, CD, mediaserver etc... But does anyone know how to configure this? What extra's did you get?

What stero did you istall? Where?

Speakers? Does anyone have spekars in the cocpit? Where did you mount?

What I understud its not clear how the multimedia part of gb40 will work for now. I have seen speakers installed to the right of the engine control resp. left to the VHF. I have ordered a cockpit tent wich will end in the area of the engine control, so Wendel & Rados will install the speakers somewhat closer to the middle of the cockpit, but I understud it is not easy. I will install sonos http://www.sonos.com - www.sonos.com  a multiroom system conected with an external LAN disk 500GB

I order from W&R a elektrical lift for a 32" on starbord behind the chairs with a 5.1 receiver and mirage nanosat speakers http://www.miragespeakers.com - www.miragespeakers.com . In the front cabin Bose AM 5 all wireless conected with Sonos.

That sounds like a great solution - thanks for the input.

I was thinking in 12v terms, hence the Bose AC3 (runs without 220v).

But you inspired me, so i am interested to learn more about your solution.

Are you getting a converter for the whole 220v system or just for the entertainment?
How do you solve the TV areal?
What are WR charging for the entertainment installation?

(I am thinking maybe to sail back to Greifswald an have them sort me out)

Thanks in advance.

PS. You should check my post in the Halyard discussion. There is a problem on most 470 on this point. Easyer to fix before you get your mast on.

I ordered the Fischer Panda from Hanse ande a 2000W Mastervolt inverter from WR. My setup with Sonos is new to WR, however they have a number of solutions based on Bose systems.
Sonos is easy to install, you need 220V and a internet conection with the first player. Wireless internet WR charge around 2000 €, the same for the Mirage speakers. Its not cheap but WR is doing a good job I think. If of intresst, send me your mailadress, I can mail you WR pricelist for electronics extras for the 470.

I spoke to Navico to day.
They say the GB40 is ready for multimedia but the Navico DVD is delayed.

With the Navico DVD you can control DVD via OP30.

If you put a USB stick with MP3 files into the system, you can copy the MP3 files to the GB40, and control MP3 play via OP30. You must connect an amplifyer via the supplied cables.

I am thinking of using the GB40 for cocpit speakers, and install a parallel soundsystem in the Saloon (Sonos, Apple TV or Car stereo).

Will keep you updated on how this works.

Hi,

I also ordered the GB40 but since it is untested I didn't want to load it with heavy tasks just in case. I also ordered the TV in main salon from Hanse. The sound system I will order from WR so I am very interested on your solutions and comments. My wife loves music and the listening levels are driving most systems in red. I would prefer to go for a 230V system - I have an 2000VA inverter installed . The cockpit speakers are a problem. Any suggestions?

Hi

I have my GB 40 installed as shown on the picture by the local dealer. But it does not look professional especially the handset. Does anybody have a better sample? So I can modify mine.
Ozturk
Thanks
Enjoy sailing

Hi Pearl,

Where do you have or will install the Bose subwoofer? Behind the sofa? How you have manage to dismantle them, also to you get a solution to pass the wiring behind the furniture specially the two upper in each corner best place to place the speakers the access seams impossible

Thanks for your advice

Jörg

Skopea,

I have a setup with one GB40 screen and controller by the chart table, and one mounted in the cocpit as you. In your picture it seems like the plexi plate it is mounted in is cut beside the screen ?

I have a white plate where both the screen and the controller is installed. I can take a picture the next time I am onboard.

Sveino

Edit: here is a picture of how I have installed my GB40 in the cocpit.

Hi Jörg,

I did'nt get around to it yet, but i plan to use the space under the corner seat of the sofa. Think i will try to wire inside the closets and under the floor boards.

Hi,
I just returned from Hanse to check the progress of my boat.
There I was told that R&W installs the sub woofer in the base of the salon table. More details I do not know.

BOSE AM3 sub will fit nicely undet the salon table - just installed mine. You need to take the table plate off and dismount the table, then take the bottom plate off. It's fixed with screws and glue, but it's possible to to get it out without damageing it - if not a new one can be produced with the old as template.

Wires for sattelites under floorboards, and installed on starboard side, behind armchairs - fixed with heavy duty velcro directly on the wood. Only one small hole for wirering (you have easy access behind the aft. armchair.)

Will now try to get the cocpitspeakers to work with the GB40 and an AMP. Will post details and pictures later.
