It looks really great. I just wish they would consider a 3 spreader mast and a longer boom sheeted in the cockpit like the 630. It would offer a much better trim.
I am also missing the folding anchor. Apart from that i am ready to buy it!!!

Happy to say I'm a new owner of the 575. Not sure when I will actually get it but I have traded my 470e for the 575 with my local dealer. Very exciting. The principle reason for the change is that my family is growing and I never wanted to tell anyone that they could not come sailing because we were "full". The amenities appear second to none.

Well Bax, congrats with the new 575. Looking great!. I have put it on my bucket list. As a matter of intrest, as I have a 470 myself, was the trade in value reasonable?

On the 470e, I was led to believe that it made better sense to source products from local suppliers. I found this to be somewhat false, feeling often that I was over-charged for everything. For the 575, I am getting Hanse to do almost everything. The highlights are:
bow & stern thrusters (on a joy stick on starboard pedestal), easy-tender system, air compressor, performance package, leather interior, all B&G gear including Radar and Autopilot, Bimini, Dodger, TV, AIS transponder, shoal draft keel, teak everywhere, all the fancy tables going up and down, upgraded mattresses and a bunch of stuff I can't even remember without having my documents at hand. I hope that fills out the picture.

tHanks! seems that SImrad and Zeus B&G are very similar...probably from the same manufacturer...have any info about them? Internet on board? Do you know how much the auxiliary boat cost? thanks!

it is the same Manufacturer but I'm told that the B&G versions are available. I figure I might as well have just one name on display as for several.
The internet repeater I had on the 470 will be replicated on the 575. I don't think its available from Hanse but its only a $2000 or so expense. It should be the only thing I rebuild from scratch from external suppliers.
I am keeping my inflatable tender from the 470. Its 9' in length and has no trouble fitting in the garage. The boat they show in the promo is a $35,000 jet boat that I neither want or need. It only holds 3 people whereas mine holds 6. Its called the Williams Turbojet 285. You can ski behind it if you want, but not with my old bones.

Bax,
Congratulations!!
Where will the boat be moored. Will have to keep an lookout for you as we travel the area. Sounds like it's unlikely you'' have it this season though?

i traded my 470 for a 630, one thing to keep in mind is the size difference. If i would do it again i would get a furling mast. I know it is a compromise and it depends on what you are going to use the boat for. But if you like me will be sailing it short handed every now and then, its a lot more to handle then the 470. Just an experience i like to share.
best regards
Peter

Good point Peter, however I would suggest getting a furling boom instead. I've heard that less problems develop with the furling boom and if something does happen you can still get the sail down quickly. In addition, you don't have to compromise the sail design itself - it can still use traditional horizontal battens, etc....

Just a thought

Hi,

With practice you will be able to sail the 630 double handed! We regularly do it. Keeping the hardware in excellent condition is essential to control the huge main. The slides must be clean and lubricated. When we release the main halyard the main just falls inside the lazy jack pouch. By controlling the rate of descent and the helm you can park the main beautifully in the bag. The harder it blows the easier it is! The boats speed must be kept to the minimum while keeping steerage.

Furling the selftacker requires caution. The furling motor is weak and sometimes does not have the power to furl the sail. Especially when sailing downwind you can get carried away and end up with all the jib unfurled and the wind over 25 knots true. In these conditions we "burned" the furler motor and had to furl the sail manually. This job takes about 20 minutes, so plan in advance!

Bax,
Congratulation on your choice of the 575. We are considering ordering one for long term cruising after some modifications and additions. I look forward reading your feedback on the vessel.

I looked at the brochure. Nice boat. Yes...  I totally understand for those who wishes to upgrade from a 40 ish feet to consider it... However, owing a 545 that I bough blast year, I saw VERY little differences between the two boat.
One thing that is not clear to me from the technical drawings id the swimming platform. The new vertical design that allows the Jet tender, seems not to allow having the swimming platform that the 53, 54, 545 and 63 have...

Finally, I do not understand much Hanse's Logic in changing lines every 3 years. I have to say, I have been looking for boats for years, and when the first 545's were presented at Southampton boatshow, I thought the concept was nice, but the finish was HORRIBLE. I think the first ones produced in a new line will always have more problems before they adjust and find the best production, a year would pass. And once they have mastered the production of one line, hop, they launch a new one! Strange...

Also, another thing I do not understand, why Hanse have so many boat at only few feet differences.... 35.5, 38.5 41.4-44.5, 49.5-54.5....
By the way, I think next year a replacement for the 63 is also coming... I'd say a 68 feet.... Any one open for a bet?

Himmm... I had received a hardcover brochure for the 78th last year. But then my dealer, said it was not for immediate production...
The price would be around 2m eur... At this price, one can buy a custom made boat with much metter quality.... I think (this is in my humble opinion of course) that production boats are good up to 65 feet. Above that it becomes a custom built as even the production boats will sell very few of them and the cost of it is jacked up a lot by the brand name in expense of better quality materials...
I was expecting something to replace the 63 really... may be a 65...

I notice the Hanse website now has some images of the first 575 off the production line. I gather this boat is going to be shown at the upcoming boat show in the Netherlands starting on 4 Sept.
