Do you have a picture of what diode needs to be fixed, and any specs on that diode?    Looking at the board, yes, it is surprising they used an exposed ribbon cable for the connection to the remote panel.

Checking the ribbon cable, my thought was that there would be a ground and a 3.3V or 5V power line, as well as some communications lines, but didn't see that with a meter; would need an oscilloscope to debug the protocol.

Can't find any wiring diagrams online for this.

A bit of poking around found:

https://www.myhanse.com/uploads/4609/H415_Wiring_Plan.pdf

Page 18 shows the board, but not the internals.  There appear to be three 12VDC incoming circuits, powering four outputs, K2, K4, K5, K7.  The ones seen by me are K2, K3, K5, and two sets into K7.

Harold, I am also very interested in the repair that you did to the dimmer/control box PCB. You mentioned diode failure. I’ve had to replace a dimmer box and now have a spare that I’d like to repair. Any help in locating the components would be appreciated. Thanks.

BTW, image of the board is below.

If the diodes can be identified, they are generally cheap to get.

Engineroom, what are the Vespar units located near the dimmer PCB? Not something I recognize on my boat.

By the way, looking at the lighting board, it looks like it might be an Arduino Leonardo plus the power transistors/relays on one board.

The main processor (!) has 11 pins on a side, and it appears to be a 32u4.  Note the 6 pin connector (ICSP?) as well.

Not yet but think it will be fixed with a new board or repairs to the existing board. Engineroom is my cousin and did a great job diagnosing this and has the capability to fix if necessary
