Thankyou to everyone who contributes to this fabulous resource. I've found the information posted very helpful, however have not found a topic addressing a challenge I'm currently confronted with.

I have a 2010 Hanse 545 with Yanmar 4HJ4-HTE engine. The previous owner has ignored a raw water leak with the FP 6000i genset which has resulted in quite a bit of corrosion damage to the engine and shaft components.

I'm having difficulty locating information on the rubber shaft coupler, thrust bearing and PSS seal. The PSS seal is 45mm and it shouldn't be too difficult to work out the stern tube diameter, so sourcing correct part shouldn't be too difficult (famous last words)...

I'm more concerned with the thrust (intermediate) bearing which is so badly corroded that identifying make/part numbers is impossible.

Has anyone replaced these components, access is really poor for a boat this size and I'm wondering how difficult this proved to be.

A schematic from Hanse with part numbers would be amazing..... :-)

Kind Regards

Christian

What do you mean with “thrust bearing “
Do you mean the gearbox-shaft coupling? Our the shaft bearing?

There’s a mistake in the Centa fold coupling type number
“CF-AGM-50-3”and not “CF-AGM-55-3”
Sorry

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I've highlighted the thrust (or intermediate) bearing below.

If it just the cast iron centa TB 3 who is corroded it is not a big problem IMO.
If the bearing inside is in bad condition try to contact Centa@centa.de www.centa.de

Christian,

I am going to do the same job on our 575 in Nov or Dec this year before we leave the Caribbean heading for the Pacific. It seems buying the coupling and thrust bearing is no problem from various suppliers in Germany. I am hoping not to need to replace the PSS shaft seal. The access on the 575 is difficult as well. I would be interested in how you go with this job and any tips you may have. Good luck.

Thanks Wilfried and Wayne

I located the following manual which looks very helpful after reviewing the info Wilfried posted.

Unfortunately, it's the bearing itself and not just the housing that is corroded, but now I am armed with the part information and how the coupling goes together. How hard can it be.... Disapprove

I'm tackling the job in August when Salt is hauled, I'll post any lessons learned.

Hi Wilfried

Quick question, do you have information confirming it's the CF-AGM-50-3 and CENTA-TB-3 for the 545 with 110hp Yanmar. Planning to order replacement and just want to ensure that's the correct part. It appears there are a number of couplers that potentially fit a 45mm shaft, however the one you refer to seems most likely.

Thanks again for your insights.
