Hello I am trying to buy an Hanse 505 2017, during sea trials I noticed a significant vibration on the wheel especially above 8 knots and 2400 rpm , the bottom and folding prop were just cleaned.
The wheel was vibration left and right about 15degrees and felt a lot of vibration through it, at 4 knots and with engine at idle the vibration stopped. Is there an history of such a phenomena on the Hanse 505 ? Thank you very much , I really appreciate any replies. |

When I am pushing the engine 2500-3000rpm I get a slight vibration in the steering. I always assumed it was just prop wash over the rudder. It never concerned me. I am not sure if you are talking about something else.

Unfortunately it’s more than a slight vibration, I will try to take a video next time, the bottom is clean as well as the 3 blade folding prop, the engine can’t pass 2800 rpm and smokes white a little, 1200 engine hours..

A friend of mine had the same problem with his Bavaria. In his case the engine mounts (engine supports?) were worn..

I feel a vibration in the wheel when motoring at higher speeds. However, there is no vibration when sailing at similar or even faster speeds. I conclude that it is turbulence from the propeller wash, and I'm not concerned.
